“Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God do you learn.” - C.S. Lewis

Gathering information and learning are totally different.

Real learning only takes place when you apply and act upon the information.

The feedback in the form of results intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, physically and financially is the actual learning.

Zig Ziglar said, “Repetition is the mother of learning, the father of action, which makes it the architect of accomplishment.”

Zig Ziglar was one of the great masters and when it comes to convincing the subconscious mind that something is real, repetition is absolutely the mother of learning.

After it’s all said and done and in addition to repetition, experience in our life is truly the mother of all learning as quoted by C. S. Lewis above.

When you have actually learned something that is absolutely beneficial towards your personal growth and development then you can repeat it with decisive and purposeful action.

Repeating behaviors that are not fruitful to the mind, body and spirit serve little or no purpose.

We all have experiences good, bad or indifferent that have shaped us into who we are today.

This is a never ending life cycle that continues to create that inner being that longs for growth, sustainability and love.

Experience has a different effect on different people.

Some pack up their suitcase and go into psychological isolation.

Others learn something about themselves that not only changes them but inspires a desire to change something in their world experience.

Wallace D. Wattles stated this so many years ago.

“Desire is the effort of the unexpressed possibility within, seeking expression without, through your action”.

If your experience provides you with an expressed possibility that has not been expressed, act.

You owe it to yourself, your community and the greater global village.

Humanity needs you, your ideas, your inspiration, your love, your understanding and above all your faith and gratitude.

Experience is a brutal teacher but the rewards are beyond expression.

“Yesterday is a canceled check; tomorrow is a promissory note; today is the only cash you have - so spend it wisely.” - Kay Lyons

If you were living on the planet Jupiter you would only have 9 hours 55 minutes and 33 seconds in each day.

Wow!

Now you would really have to maximize your efforts.

Fortunately, you live on this wonderful planet called Earth with an additional 14.45 hours or so each day.

It doesn’t really matter how much time you have, as you can’t manage time but you can manage your activity.

According to techjury.net, “An average user spends 2 hours and 24 minutes per day on social media in 2020. 50.1% of the time spent on mobile is done using social media apps in 2020.” (Jun 18, 2020)

Now, that leaves approximately 7 hours, 31 minutes and 2 seconds left in the day if you lived on Jupiter.

Bottom line.

Time is precious, fleeting and irretrievable.

Spending any time online bashing anything or anyone is a huge waste of your valuable time and only leads to more toxicity in your life.

No one knows what anyone has gone through or is going through especially in these unprecedented times.

A measure of kindness goes along way.

Refuse to submit your thoughts, feelings and actions to the dark side of our human experience.

This is your life.

Live it full throttle to the best of your ability.

Imagine all the possibilities.

Fill your life with life-giving thoughts, feelings and actions.

Expect the best as the best is yet to come for you.

Awaken and unleash that wonderful, imaginative, and unstoppable you and the world is your oyster.

This is your moment.

This is your time to unleash that unstoppable, creative, possibility thinking human being within.

Spend your cash wisely and live in the microsecond of the moment.

"Good resolutions are simply checks that men draw on a bank where they have no account." - Oscar Wilde

It's the beginning of the month, so what's the game plan and what will you do?

Resolve to eradicate self-limiting thoughts that lead to self-defeating behaviors.

This new way of living doesn’t eliminate issues, concerns or problems.

However, it does offer you creative and intelligent methods for dealing with obstacles that are really opportunities in disguise.

Resolutions are psychological tools that are intended to motivate oneself towards goals.

“I’m going to walk four miles a day Monday to Friday beginning next week October 5, 2020.”

This resolution is specific with a definite timeline.

Now, pulling this resolution off falls into level four and five of the seven levels of awareness.

Specifically, I am referring to level four where you express your uniqueness by declaring a specific resolution.

The next level is the time to pivot where you give yourself a command and actually follow through with it.

Procrastination can never enter this arena as this is reserved for the ones that have a very high level of awareness.

Here are the 7 levels.

SEVEN LEVELS OF AWARENESS

1. ANIMAL React, fight, or flight

2. MASS Follow the masses, paradigms control us

3. ASPIRATION You desire something greater than your present circumstances

4. INDIVIDUAL You express your uniqueness

5. DISCIPLINE Give yourself a command and follow through

6. EXPERIENCE Your new actions change your results

7. MASTERY Respond; you think and plan

Without this awareness of these seven levels we are all reduced to an animal state of reactionary living.

Awareness provides us with opportunities where we no longer react but respond to present circumstances

With increased awareness, we get to see more and more of what is possible in our lifetime.

The white picket fences around our thinking and behavior vanish into thin air.

George Bernard Shaw said, “The possibilities are numerous once we decide to act and not react.”

You’re on stage 24/7.

Being authentic and transparent allows you to attract everything that you want.

Ultimately, you become an incredible electromagnetic field.

Decision time!

React or respond?

Control or not in control?

The choice is yours.

“Do not fear to be eccentric in opinion, for every opinion now accepted was once eccentric.” - Bertrand Russell

When two or more are gathered there will always be a difference of opinion.

This is a healthy and productive process that leads towards the growth of any relationship, business, or company.

However, the thoughts, feelings, and actions that occur after the difference of opinion determine the creation or disintegration of any future possibilities.

Agreeing to disagree is healthy.

In only becomes unhealthy, when either party engages the infamous amygdala with anger, distrust, apathy, and every other toxic entity.

It is becoming more and more apparent now that blowing off steam in the privacy of your own space is more beneficial than publishing blatant comments about anyone or anything online.

The consequences were always there however now authorities take them seriously.

Since the onset of the internet, individuals everywhere take their perceived plight online and begin their onslaught against their opponent.

In fact, no one knows who their attacker is as they camouflage themselves behind the veil of anonymity.

Bob Moawad said, “The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.”

We really do live in interesting times. There are all types of rants out there based on hate or love.

Open platforms provide people all over the world with the opportunity to dialogue, share information, and images.

This is incredibly positive and amazing especially for so many people that are separated by distance.

However, history tells us that the Wild West ended in 1895.

Some individuals or groups purport themselves as judge and jury without regard for the rule of law and the outcome is disastrous for all concerned.

More evidence of this prevailing situation has now promoted serious legal consequences for the offenders.

Most of this could have been avoided and ultimately resolved.

Our physical eyes always trigger perception.

However perception without acute awareness and based solely on conjecture is not intelligent or sound.

Most people are actually fairly street-smart and could easily discern between doing what’s right from doing what’s wrong or unjust.

When we all can take full responsibility for all our thinking, all our feelings, and all our actions only then is the world ours.

These young ears within hearing distance pick up everything good, bad or indifferent.

The real question to ask is what legacy are we leaving them?

“Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.” - Lao Tzu

Get to know that incredible, intelligent, and creative individual that resides at the core of your being.

It has no clue whether something is real, imagined, big, or small. It only relies and acts on information that is housed in its core.

Change that information dramatically and you automatically change the outcome of all your actions.

So what does it mean to master yourself?

This is a lifelong quest that never ends and no one ever arrives.

Mastering oneself is synonymous with which wolf is fed most often.

Which wolf are you feeding on a daily basis?

Is it the wolf of lack, limitation, despair, anger, resentment etc. or is it the wolf of light, love, and possibility?

The one that you feed on a daily basis is the one that wins and ultimately controls every single aspect of your thoughts, feelings, actions, and results.

It’s your life.

The latter influences all of your intellectual, emotional, spiritual, physical, and financial fruits.

None of this is rocket science however many beautiful people do not get it.

Continuing to feed the wolf of lack, limitation, despair, anger, and resentment tears down your psychological house.

Every human being is born with the wolf of light and possibility within.

Every human life is precious beyond words.

Every human being deserves inclusion, diversity, and respect regardless of any societal descriptors.

Now we all understand that mastering oneself is a lifelong quest that never ends and no one ever arrives.

No one.

Mastering yourself is true power.

Congratulations.

“You either get bitter or you get better. It's that simple. You either take what has been dealt to you and allow it to make you a better person, or you allow it to tear you down. The choice does not belong to fate, it belongs to you.”  - Josh Shipp

When this pandemic has finally run its course, are you going to be bitter or better?

If your roots are deep with conviction, faith, love, fortitude, and resilience, you will absolutely come out better.

You will come out stronger.

You will come out wiser.

Because you have believed in yourself, you will come out better.

Henry David Thoreau said, “Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each.”

This current scenario is similar to trying to force open the petals of a rose that usually accelerates its demise.

Allow the rose to open naturally and its splendor will unfold.

Everything that surrounds you cannot be changed instantaneously.

However, you can change your own personal attitude and suddenly everything changes around you.

The real power lies within.

Get to know that incredible, intelligent, and creative individual that resides at the core of your being.

It has no clue whether something is real, imagined, big, or small.

It only relies and acts on information that is housed in its core.

Change that information dramatically and you automatically change the outcome of all your actions.

A clear picture of your desired outcome now creates more order, less fear, less doubt, less confusion and thus allows us to tap into the higher side of our personality.

You will come out better.

Tough, unprecedented times create a better version of you.

Embrace it and it will embrace you with gifts that words could never express.

“If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride - and never quit, you'll be a winner. The price of victory is high but so are the rewards.” - Paul Bryant

It’s so easy to want to quit when the tide is high, right up against your face.

If you were stuck on the side of the road and ran out of gas would you dump your car?

Would you forget about it and never come back to retrieve it?

Goals are no different than this scenario.

Most people quit just before they’re ready to make the turn towards victory.

Why is this?

Some people believe that they don’t deserve or are worthy of the victory.

They don’t believe in themselves.

These are some people that believed in themselves ad their mission in life.

Abraham Lincoln

Nelson Mandela

Martin Luther King

Rosa Parks

John Lewis

Malala Yousafzai

Helen Keller

. . . and the list goes on and on.

What did they have in their DNA that sets them apart from the pack?

A burning desire.

It’s that burning desire within you that is seeking expression without, regardless of present circumstances.

Don’t quit as you are almost there.

Persist and continue to move forward no matter what.

You must believe in yourself. You must believe that you are special and unique.

The only way to achieve this is to embrace information that resonates with your inner core.

Internalize it with feeling and emotion and as a result, a burning desire will arise within.

You will feel alive and vibrant.

The explosive emotion in your mind, body, and spirit creates a volcano of powerful ideas. The blood flowing through your body is electrified with passion and purpose.

Yes.

You just woke up and experienced an explosive psychological impact.

The status quo in your life just died and you flipped the switch in your brain from default to design.

This burning desire within you is seeking expression without through your actions.

If you are not strong, confident, and inspired by a burning desire, you will pack up your suitcase at the very first obstacle.

Add a carry on bag along your journey, as you are not packing up your suitcase any time soon.

“Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.” - Oscar Wilde

There are no mistakes.

Only lessons.

These lessons teach us valuable information about ourselves that allow us to grow towards the next level.

Each level of growth provides us with huge, magnifying, and penetrating eyes that see far more than the average human being on the planet.

Lessons along the way are worthless if we don’t learn and act upon them.

This is the real lesson.

The best book, the best recipe, the best training and the best whatever is worth nothing if you don’t internalize and experience it in your life with deliberate and decisive action.

The feedback from these experiences is the learning that actually takes place.

We have so many talents and treasures buried within that rarely make it to the surface.

As a result, we do so many things for a variety of reasons.

Dig deep.

The answers are already there, desperately trying to break ground.

Don Williams, Jr. said, “The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination.

The journey is far more important than the goal. If we continually chase the goal without enjoying the journey, it is all for naught. At some point, we pause and understand that we missed the most important elements.

It’s all about the journey.

Honor your commitments to yourself.

Honor your commitments to others and the experience will be more life giving and fruitful.

The largest gap that prevents people from achieving their hearts desire is knowing what to do but not doing it.

So here are some do’s.

Do it by serving people and not money.

Do it by exceeding expectations above and beyond.

Do it by resisting to desist.

Do it with integrity.

Do it by caring.

Do it with excellence by starting and finishing.

I've said it many times to many people, “Words are only words but action speaks volumes.”

After it’s all said and done, talk is cheap but action is expensive.

It is expensive in terms of giving, forgiveness, determination, persistence, passionate, mentoring and everything else that goes with it.

The end result is worth every single cent of energy expended.

Enjoy the journey and the destination will have much more meaning for you.

“The only disability in life is a bad attitude.” - Scott Hamilton

There are all kinds of issues and circumstances that are constantly bombarding our 360 zone.

These mental viruses will attempt to penetrate our protective shield.

Our protective shield is our own personal attitude.

A strong personal mental toughness attitude will prevent any foreign entity from invasive action whatsoever.

Herbert Hoover, 31st president of the United States (1929–1933)said, “Children are our most valuable resource.”

Sometimes young children understand life better than adults.

Here is a nine year old’s take on attitude.

“The importance of attitude is how you control it. Your attitude changes people as well as yourself.”

ATTITUDE by SAMC

“The importance of attitude is how you control it.

Your attitude changes people as well as yourself.

It reflects on your morning, afternoon and evening. It changes the way you talk and the way you feel.

You can’t make one little thing ruin your life.

 Stay positive.  Stay happy.

Act the way you want to be treated but you can’t ask other people to act the way you want to.

Attitude is life. We can’t control other people’s attitude.

You can only change your own.

You are you and be happy and be happy you are who you are.”

Break any negative and self-defeating cycle with decisive, deliberate action.

This life changing action will not transpire without changing your attitude as illustrated above by the nine year old.

Implant the true meaning of attitude into your sub-conscious mind.

A = AIM HIGH

T =TASK ORIENTED

T = TEACHABLE

I – INTERESTED

T = TEAM PLAYER

U = UNDERSTANDING

D = DETERMINED

E = EXCELLENCE

Attitude of mind

Ask Yourself , who and/or what is in control of my life?

Who and/or what is in control of my $$$$$$?

How can I create more success for myself?

Make every day 24/7 / 86,400 seconds count.

How will you show up 12 months from today?

Earl Nightingale stated that “Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.”

Then what is your worthy ideal?

Why you are doing, what you are doing is the definition of your own personal worthy ideal.

Is it a worthy ideal?

If it’s not working presently, then you need to change it up.

William James stated it masterfully, “The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.”

We need to get to the root of this attitude of mind.

Dr. Thurman Fleet (1895-1983), was the founder of the ingenious Concept Theory better known as the “Stickperson”.

Via this image, he created a holistic approach regarding the following; treat the cause and not the symptoms.

This image represents attitude as a composite of thoughts, feelings and actions.

These thoughts feelings and actions trigger a frequency that is best described as stimulus, emotion, filter mechanism, interpretive mechanism and ultimately behavior.

Dr. Thurman’s Stickperson, represents the conscious mind (thoughts), subconscious mind (feelings) and body (action). Ultimately, we create results good, bad or indifferent.

If we understand this simplistic image, then we must take full responsibility and complete ownership  for our thoughts, feelings and actions. It’s a very simple formula as less is more and by reducing everything to the ridiculous it becomes second nature.

Thinking + Feeling + Action = Results

Kids get it.

"These most recent charges serve as a stark warning to online harassers that their conduct can attract ... serious criminal sanctions. This has been a precedent-setting case from the beginning. It demonstrates that the criminal justice system is taking internet harassment seriously.” – David Georgetti

The above is an excerpt from a published news article by Eric Rankin on September 19, 2020.

Hate begets hate and haters ultimately self implode as demonstrated in the above news article.

Hate begets hate.

Plain and simple.

What’s the solution?

Martin Luther King Jr. stated, “Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Let’s talk about the love and light that can drive out hate as described by Martin Luther King Jr.

Imagine what these people could do if they exerted the same amount of energy into the polar opposite of hate.

The polar opposite of haters are people who are inspired.

Their spiritual edge provides them with a sixth sense. This spiritual edge provides them with the freedom that is the innate quest of all human beings that breathe and live passionately not only through their words but their action.

Everyone is engaged in his or her own metamorphosis similar to a butterfly. However, this life cycle is different for everyone. No one ever arrives as we are always growing and learning.

These people are inspired beyond the usual parameters of human inspiration.

This inspiration is embedded into their DNA.

My personal definition for DNA is, dare to nurture all that is within you.

A lot of beautiful people are inspired to a degree however when life smashes them in the face they succumb to the energy of the enemy. I prefer to call it the X factor but you can give it any label that you wish.

Your X is where you are now and your y represents where you want to strive towards in your life.

The X factor has one mission and that is to bring you down and prevent you from growing inspirationally.

Its primary purpose is to convince you that in order to understand life, one can only view it with the sensory factors; i. e. see, hear, smell, taste and touch.

This infamous X factor will do absolutely anything to manipulate you in anyway possible by digging into its bag of tricks in order to deceive you.

Its ploy always appears to be rational but it is deception at the highest level. Any attempt to utilize the intellectual faculties; i.e. will, intuition, memory, perception, imagination, and reason are immediately squashed.

The X factor loves to maintain control by keeping most people prisoners in their limbic system of their brain. The emotional fallout rests here and is intense. It is a self-imposed prison sentence.

Being stuck sucks and these people are not immune to this syndrome. In order to get back on track, they step up their awareness acutely by invoking their intellectual faculties.

As a result, these people are inspired regardless of present circumstances, as they understand that present circumstances do not count.

Ever.

They have an incessant intention to move forward as they continually walk through the fire towards their victory and success while others are looking at the fire.

Their persistent desire is not to lose their spiritual edge.

They simply accomplish this by not focusing on present circumstances, as present circumstances are continually moving and changing.

This constant and persistent daily inspiration lays the foundation for their legacy after they are no longer here.

They don’t want to simply exist. They want to live vibrantly and fully in every single aspect of their evolving life.

They are driven internally and are driven by their inspired, spiritual purpose.

These individuals strive and work towards something huge in their life and as a result they feel alive and vibrant. Every single cell of their body says onward.

The X factor is saying that they’ve had enough but something inside of them is pressing them to move forward.

They are not impervious to life’s ups and downs but rather they press on with a spiritual fortitude and free will that was endowed to them by their creator.

Their ongoing daily inspiration allows them to create wonderful things for all of humanity regardless of ethnicity, religion, color etc.

They respect and love people.

Their inspiration lifts people to where they could be and not where they currently exist.

These people are inspired.

These people inspire.

Now light and love as described in Martin Luther King’s quote above reigns.

“Indecision is the seedling of fear.” – Napoleon Hill

You can plant whatever you want as the earth will only produce the patterned plan in the seed.

The identical process takes place in your mind.

The main weapon that you have in dealing with indecision is to focus with intention.

Focus on the solution and nothing else.

Life just handed all of us this current pandemic and didn’t even ask for our permission.

Now is the time to pivot more than ever before.

Linear thinking people believe that non-linear thinkers are over dedicated to the point that they are labeled reckless and reactionary. They don’t understand their pattern of thinking, as they are already leaps and bounds ahead of the pack.

Ask them a question, and they already had the answer several minutes ago.

In unprecedented times, these dedicated doers pivot.

These people are so dedicated that at times, their ruin is so close that disaster intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, physically and financially are imminent.

However, this is where they pivot their plan of action and embrace another take, another strategy, another path towards victory and not failure.

It almost seems that they are plucky beyond expectation.

They love Winston Churchill’s take on the word pivot, “To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.”

Take a look at some of these business pivots in the past.

Odeo to Twitter.

Palm pilot to Paypal.

Engineering company to HP.

Short-stay hotel to Nintendo.

Weaving-loom machine to Suzuki.

Video-based dating service to YouTube and on and on.

Their vision, mission and purpose are embedded in every single fiber of their being and live it 24/7.

They understand that risk is the realization that they can be, do, or have more in their life.

This risk allows them to pivot by investigating and exploring all possible options. In turn, it affords them the opportunity to grow as valuable, nurturing and contributing individuals

This risk allows them to understand that success is a two-sided coin that has failure on the other side.

Now is the time to pivot and monetize your creativity regardless of present circumstances.

Only one ingredient is necessary in this process.

You must have a passionate desire to help people and create solutions for them.

"Leadership is based on a spiritual quality; the power to inspire others to follow." -Vince Lombardi

There will always be leaders and followers and humanity needs both.

People will only follow you when they absolutely understand that following you is all about them and not you.

Their dreams, goals, aspirations, wants and everything else that you can toss into the mix is what it’s all about.

When this happens, they will do whatever it takes to bring your goals to fruition.

I remember walking into a large corporation at one time and the large sign in the CEO’s office read, “You are entitled to my opinion”.

Wow!

Well, this individual was obviously at the very first level of the leadership ladder as people were probably only following him because they had to.

Was he a nurturer or narcissist?

You already know the answer.

Leadership today requires emotional intelligence at the highest level than ever before.

Mark Twain said, “Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.”

People really don’t care especially if they don’t like you or you don’t fit into their leadership model.

There is a vast array of tools to display their displeasure of your leadership such as twitter, Facebook and a sundry of others.

It’s not easy to discern the difference between lies and facts.

Lack of fact checking, conjecture, on line mobs and misguided emotional missiles are rampant. Some of these people are professionals with real jobs, displaying their true identity, and as a result their employers would be embarrassed by their unprofessional behavior and comments.

 “Wow, did you hear that so and so said . . . . . . .?”

“Really, where did you hear that and who told you?”

“They said.”

“Well, who are they?”

We love this as we hear it all the time around the water cooler, in the staff room, at the grocery store and anywhere else on the planet where people meet online and offline.

There are so many versions of everything on the planet.

So, how do you gain this emotional intelligence?

You don’t need people’s approval but you do need to listen attentively when people speak.

Hearing is not listening.

Listening implies that you are an active participant in the interaction of ideas.

When you are an active participant, you don’t jump in and interrupt. You listen and then process the dialogue in order to contribute to it effectively.

You have heard this many times.

People don’t care how much you know.

They want to know how much you care.

You demonstrate your ability to care with these words; care, trust, help, listen, observe and serve.

As a result, people will always choose to follow you and your leadership because they want to and not because they have to.

Really care about people by listening and not just hearing.

Be selective, as some people just want to hear the sound of their voice.

You demonstrate how much you care by listening and encouraging them to persist regardless of present circumstances.

Don’t encourage negativity but rather encourage proactive behavior.

Your caring will develop trust and your trust will also enable more listening and real interaction.

Trust is not easily given.

It must be earned and the only way to earn trust is to treat people with respect and provide the necessary information that will enable them to make intelligent, proactive decisions.

Full disclosure and due diligence is what it’s all about.

When it becomes habitual, you don’t even think about it.

You just do it!

The result is more trust and healthier relationships on all levels.

When people understand that they can really trust you, then they will be more open to your ideas and any assistance that you may be able to offer.

It must be genuine.

As this evolves, your sense of awareness and the ability to observe heightens.

You get to see more of what is really happening in your environment and you don’t simply react any more.

You respond as a result of your heightened emotional intelligence.

As you respond, you gain an acute understanding that leading by serving people is a winning scenario for all participants.

Your servant leadership pays huge dividends to you and everyone you interact with on a daily basis.

You begin to understand what really motivates people and most often it is not just money.

Compliance, sticks, and carrots are outdated as engagement is far superior and produces greater results.

These new results are demonstrated in your environment by greater accountability, exponential increase in performance, teamwork, and fun, less stress, anxiety, and worry.

The end result/effect is an incredibly healthy culture that fosters openness, acceptance, intrinsic proactive behavior, and ownership.

This culture of applause is the result of servant leadership.

You lead people by serving them in a professional, authentic, and purposeful manner.

It’s all about relationships.

It’s all about people.
