"Let your dreams be bigger than your fears and your actions louder than your words." - Christine Caine

Truth be told, I was the last human being to hold out on buying what was popular at times. I probably thought to myself, “Let them work out the quirks, and then it will be safe to buy it.”

In fact in those days, I might have been the last person to show up at Best Buy to buy a VCR.

Incredible!

Then when the iPhone came out, I thought again, “I’ll just hang onto this flip phone until Mr. Jobs clears all the bugs and its safe to buy.”

Unbelievable!

What was I doing?

Playing it safe.

Then I met Bob Proctor and everything changed.

Now I know better so here it is.

Your X factor is that controlling, dictatorial, manipulative and scheming psychological mechanism in everyone’s personality that prevents you from nurturing what you really want to do with your life.

You need to nurture your seed, as awareness is your only defense.

Awareness provides you with that sixth sense that leads and guides you towards intelligent and proactive decisions.

You nurture your seed by taking calculated risks and not by merely playing it safe in your white picket fence.

Risk is the realization that you can be, do, or have more in your life. This risk allows you to investigate and explore all possible options that allow you to grow as a valuable, nurturing and contributing individual.

Risk allows you to understand that success is a two-sided coin that has failure on the other side. You cannot have one without the other.

How would you know a great paycheck from a bad paycheck if you didn’t experience one or the other?

When you risk, you open all types of possible opportunities that would be sadly missed.

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and instead start being positive and proactive about what could go right.

No one owes you anything in this life.

You owe yourself everything.

Take full responsibility and step up to the plate of life.

Many would love to but don’t think that they have what it takes.

It’s only those people that represent 3% of the planet that know what they want, know that they can achieve it and clearly understand that the only path towards achieving it is to do what it takes.

This is called mental toughness.

No excuses.

No alibis.

No chameleon acts.

No nothing.

Only results.

Results will never lie.

Make it happen for you and your loved ones.

When?

Right now!

It’s been waiting for you a long time.

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.” — Nelson Mandela

The following is an Excerpt from my book Slay Your X Factor And Win For Life.

https://www.amazon.com/SLAY-YOUR-FACTOR-WIN-LIFE-ebook/dp/B07J4HH56V

Are you all in?

If you are all in then you need to embrace learning as a continual journey. Learning is a lifelong quest that is comparable to breathing and is unimaginable without it.

There are a lot of dreamers out there. They are beautiful people however they just want to sleep.

You must find out how bad you want something. If you don’t do anything to move toward it, you just had a nice dream.

Most people never move forward as fear always masks itself as procrastination.

Here’s a story from the past when I was teaching in an inner city school.

They said that they were from the tough, north end of the city. They said that they had no skills.

They said that they wouldn’t even make it to the semi-finals.

They said that their director was chasing a pipe dream and was unrealistic and then they said, “How did they do it?”

In 1987 they were awarded the first place distinction nationally. They achieved the gold championship and were recognized as the first inner city school to ever receive this prestigious award.

Why this story?

Never, ever underestimate the power, passion, persistence, and determination of anyone that is on a mission towards their goal.

Here it is.

Let’s go back thirty -three years.

I taught instrumental music in an inner city junior high school. They didn’t have a band program at the time so I started the program from scratch. The community was rich with ethnicity. Almost everyone had an accordion under his or her bed but no one had a band instrument. I just graduated from university with my Master’s degree in Music Education and I was excited, pumped, and ready for action.

I still remember the first day of action. I told my students that in three years, I was going to teach, train, and prepare them for the national band festival. I also told them that they were going to win #1 in their category. They all laughed and probably thought, how long is this guy going to last?

They had already exhausted four prior band teachers.

After having said that, I realized that we also had to be invited to this festival and only after successfully achieving the Gold status at the local level.

Was I in trouble?

Later that day, a tall young man approached me and said, “Are you looking for your car?” I said, “Yes, the two door silver Toyota with the music note in the license plate”. “Well, we picked it up and moved it down the street”, said the young man.

I thought to myself, now I’m really in trouble and I have to make it happen. At the time, I had no clue that I was working and living by default.

Was it a challenge?

Yes and beyond words.

This school had a brand new principal and yes a rookie band teacher. In the months to follow, I began to unfold the transition from the current general music program towards a Gold Level A band program.

The kids hated the general music program that consisted of antiquated songbooks of yesteryear.

Gradually, I transitioned towards teaching these kids the fundamentals of music via current songs etc. I taught them complicated rhythms for their level of musicianship by exposing them to the Beverly Hills Cop music.

I said that if you can play the BHC rhythms, the other music is a piece of cake.

Of course that wasn’t the case as the opposite was the reality.

I didn’t know it then but today I fully understand that everything in life is 97% psychology and 3% effort.

My initial goal of taking these kids to stardom began to manifest in spite of the fact that I had no clue of visualization, goal setting, or goal achieving. The principal bought into my three-year plan. It consisted of developing a band of fifty grade 7–9 junior high school students performing at a very high caliber, a budget of $35,000, and a presentation to the superintendent of schools for acceptance of our goal.

Again, let me repeat this, I had no clue that I was doing all of this by default and not design. Sometime later, I realized that doing things by design produces unimaginable results.

Let’s fast forward.

The superintendent of schools accepted a meeting with the principal and myself. At this point, we were two years into the three-year plan and the reality of this was quickly approaching. The current mayor of the city at the time gifted us with $4000 but we were still short of our budgeted amount. We were requesting $5,000 from the school district, as this was our shortfall in our budget of $35,000.

At this meeting, the superintendent basically stated that our plan was honorable however not really feasible for our inner city school. During the meeting, I remember saying to the superintendent, “These kids are going to experience something so amazing that will absolutely enrich their lives forever.”

The superintendent somewhat agreed but didn’t believe that my plan of preparing these inner city students for this type of musical challenge was viable for our inner city school.

As we brought our meeting to a close, I couldn’t contain myself any longer and blurted, “With all due respect, I guess I’ll do it with you or without you”, and proceeded to walk out.

You all know what with all due respect signifies when someone is attempting to derail your mission.

I walked out of the office and the principal said, “I don’t know if you still have a job.”

I replied, “It’s not about the job. It’s about these kids and finally allowing them to claim what is rightfully theirs.”

This was the birth of the creative process in my human personality.

I had this burning desire to make it happen for these kids no matter what. I really didn’t know anything about present circumstances. I didn’t even know that I was operating by default. Deep down in my core, I absolutely knew that I had activated a burning desire to make this happen. This quote resonated with me while I was pursuing this goal.

“Desire is the effort of the unexpressed possibility within, seeking expression without, through your action.” — Wallace D. Wattles

I had to plant the seed and I had to act and the following was the result.

At the end of our performance, the adjudicator came on the platform and said, “How did you get these young musicians to perform at a very high level that is well beyond their age and musical maturity?”

I replied, “Every day during rehearsals I would tell them that the music was easy.”

I said, “That anyone could play notes, even a computer however it takes genius to create great music.”

This is the lesson that I learned from this amazing experience.

If you don’t disrupt the status quo in your life and business, someone else will and you will be blindsided and besides, status quo, you know is Latin for the mess we’re in. The process is challenge, change, shakeup and finally disrupt.

This is the best part of the story.

Several years later, I bumped into the principal at a local function. He said, “I never told you this at the time but I put in the shortfall of $5000 so the trip could be a go for the kids.”

Hearing this from my former boss really took me by surprise. He continued by saying, “The school district later paid me the $5000 after the kids returned victoriously from the festival.”

I replied, “Thank you for believing in these kids as they will treasure this experience for a lifetime.”

You have a choice.

A & W (abundance and wealth) or L & L (lack and limitation)!

Everyone wants to achieve more.

School taught us to read a book once and then put it away.

We will take a course and also put it away.

Life is busy!

In order to move forward with the tools that are presented, we must change the program that has been holding us back.

Logic will tell you to do it once and then move on.

Your logic is controlled by your manipulative, dictatorial, and controlling paradigm.

You clearly understand this as you evolve with your greater understanding of this information.

We can only alter this destructive force (x factor) by installing information into your personal hard drive that is totally opposite of what has been entrenched over many years.

You will not fall back into the status quo camp, if you do the following to the best of your ability one day at a time until it becomes a habit to do what you know must be done.

Choose A & W and baby step towards your goals one day at a time.

 X Y Story

Bill Nightingale tells a story about an efficiency expert named Ivy Lee who was hired by a major businessperson to give him his top advice on how to increase productivity, efficiency, and his bottom line.

He was told to prioritize the top six things he wanted to get done. "Do number one and don't do anything else until you get number one done."

The man said, "I am supposed to pay you all that money and you give me that advice?" Ivy Lee told him to do it for thirty days and then send him what he thought it's worth.

After thirty days, Ivy Lee got a check from the man for thirty thousand dollars, which is today's equivalent of about two hundred thousand dollars, with a note that said it was the most important piece of information - when executed - that he had ever had in his life.

As mentioned, we start at the beginning but you can start at any time right where you are with whatever resources you might have at your disposal. This is called the X factor. As you are working towards your financial or personal goal there will be many, many tumultuous twist and turns.

If you experience this, then you are absolutely on the right track.

Don’t allow anyone to influence you whatsoever. You are moving towards your Y factor. Your Y factor is your desired goal.

Begin to mix your goal with feeling and emotion and instantly you ignite the creative process that exists in each and every one of us on this planet.

Doing the daily 6 Razor’s Edge Daily Activities will propel you towards your goal and fast track your efforts exponentially.

It works perfectly.

You can wing it or shoot from the hip but without a master plan nothing really great ever happens.

You might have some wins however they won’t be consistent wins.

Think of a calculator.

You can’t even begin to use it until you clear the entries that you previously entered.

The mind works exactly the same way. If you don’t achieve all six activities in one day simply roll it over to the next day. The core idea is to stay on one activity until you complete it and then move onto the next one.

This is the template for your daily 6 razor’s edge power action activities.

6 RAZOR’S EDGE POWER ACTION DAILY ACTIVITIES

In order to remain on the right side of the razor’s edge, I understand that Excellence is defined as my commitment to completion!

“Tenderness and kindness are not signs of weakness and despair, but manifestations of strength and resolution.” - Kahlil Gibran

Today is Juneteenth, June 19, 2020.

It’s significance and profound meaning is beyond words.

As more people worldwide embrace love over hate, attitudes shift towards equality for all regardless of race, color, religion, creed or any other descriptors.

The human body cannot sustain a vibration of hate for long as remaining in this zone creates havoc physically and emotionally.

Ultimately, the fallout is intense and soon a blurred vision of reality is imminent.

As a result, a host of maladies begin to present themselves.

Hate removes any possible avenue towards joy.

Almost everything now becomes tasteless, meaningless, and purposeless.

Choosing hate only hurts oneself in the long run.

Choosing love promotes life in all areas as we no longer rely just on our physical eyes but rather on our inner eye of understanding that is far superior and transcends all borders.

Choosing love unleashes the most creative unstoppable force in the universe.

The offspring of choosing love creates inclusion, diversity, acceptance, understanding, tolerance, and every other word that fits this category.

These are only words unless they are backed up with real talk and proactive action on all levels of the global village.

You don’t have to like everyone on the planet but your calling is to love them.

Matthew 22.39 KJV

“Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”

Choose love over hate whenever the X factor in your psychological house tells you otherwise.

“His first radio interview with a child was in 1943 with his son Jack, then 5. Asked about his first day at school, Jack said he wasn’t going back. “I said, why not? He says, Well, I can’t read and I can’t write and they won’t let me talk.” – Art Linkletter

Our future depends on these young people.

What we teach them and the legacy that we leave will be their inheritance.

In our collective hands lies a multi-million dollar asset intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, physically and of course financially commonly known as your sons, daughters, grandchildren, children, students and every other name that we may attach to these inheritors.

Teach these young people to become critical thinkers and you immediately unleash the most creative unstoppable force in the universe.

The offspring of critical thinking creates inclusion, diversity, acceptance, understanding, tolerance, and every other word that fits this category.

Human beings are experts at gathering information.

We did this activity for approximately 12-16 years on the average.

We learned to read, remember, and recite.

Most of the required courses in order to prepare for the SAT exam are included in the curriculum of most school districts.

Unfortunately, they did not include the most important course.

Life 101.

This course would have required us to learn how to think critically and as a result utilize the intellectual faculties of the human mind, i.e. will, imagination, memory, perception, intuition, and reason.

To date, approximately 3% of the planet and growing utilize the latter in their daily life experience.

Unfortunately, we were not taught these essential life building skills in order to create a more abundant life in all areas that promotes the offspring mentioned above.

Why is this?

Possibly, the curriculum was more important than our personal growth.

I do not want to appear to be critical of the educational system however as a former educator I now understand that harnessing the power of your glorious mind and understanding the latter reaps huge rewards intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, physically and financially.

“We are all capable of way more then we allow ourselves to be. Our ceiling is our stress point.” – Darren Hardy

When you spell stressed backwards it is actually desserts.

Is this a coincidence?

Maybe not.

Everyone has stressed out days.

Anyone that tells you that they don’t is kidding himself or herself.

So if you want to savor the desserts here’s how.

The Law of Polarity and the intellectual faculty of perception alters the entire picture of any present moment issue that is impacting you in your life.

However most of the planet focuses on the infamous he said, she said and the worst outcome of any issue or circumstance.

On those days that you are stressed out, turn it into desserts by understanding the law, that if there is something bad about something then there must be something equally good.

The Law of Polarity states that everything in the universe has an opposite and is actually equal and opposite.

You get to choose the negative or the positive of any issue or circumstance.

God gave everyone free will so utilize it purposefully in order to attract the HSPP factor of happiness, success, prosperity and peace of mind.

This is incredible power.

Many beautiful people do not avail themselves of this life changing force.

It’s so easy to find the negative in everything.

Find the opposite, as your life will be richly rewarded many times over.

“Your body is the baggage you must carry through life. The more excess baggage, the shorter the trip.” – Arnold H. Glasow

A gentleman went on a trip and returned home exhausted. His wife asked him to unpack his suitcase so that she could do his laundry.

He returned to work the next day and proceeded with his daily activities. After a week or so, he noticed that he was becoming fatigued and easily irritated by people and issues at work.

His wife also noticed the change in his behavior.

A few days passed and his wife then asked him a simple question. “Did you unpack your suitcase after your trip?”

He immediately retorted, “Of course I did!”

The wife replied, “Not entirely, because you left some items in the suitcase.”

The husband replied in an angry tone, “What could that be?”

“You left some excess baggage, all the negative thoughts, pet peeves, irritants etc.”

Life’s just like that!

We just love to carry excess baggage around daily that weighs us down and robs us of all the beauty, energy, and vibrant possibility thinking that elevates us.

Negative energy does absolutely nothing!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing.

It’s a huge waste of our valuable time!

Even the mere mention of a negative thought robs us of possibility thinking energy.

Now that doesn’t mean that we’re going to fly around like a butterfly all day with our head in the clouds.

Rather, we are going to approach obstacles as opportunities to grow, prosper and blossom and yes, learn something.

There is a choice!

Take the higher road or take the lower road?

Taking the higher road requires energy, strength, and just plain hard work.

Taking the lower road is easy with no payoff!

But the payoff of the higher road is worth it!

Try it!

It works!

Now here is the how to part.

Be aware.

Be concerned.

Be diligent but do not obsess regarding the online, offline banter, mainstream, alternative media, and a host of others.

Constant 24/7 and 86, 400 seconds of each glorious day exposure has the tendency to create havoc intellectually, emotionally, spiritually and physically.

You are far too important and intelligent to succumb to the bait that is offered every single day.

“Worry is the interest paid on trouble before it comes due.” — William Ralph Inge

What if I . . . etc. etc. etc.

What if?

The what if syndrome doesn’t have to be the norm.

Unfortunately, it is for some people as their X factor paradigm has them stuck in the limbic system of their brain.

Emotional intelligence coupled with the understanding of neuroplasticity paves a new road towards eradicating the what if syndrome with why not.

The journey is your prize.

You clearly know what it’s like when you’re on a thrilling ride.

It’s absolutely exhilarating.

Every cell of your mind, body, and spirit is declaring excitement and fear simultaneously.

This applies equally to your chosen goals that ultimately lead to victory if you stay the course.

Present circumstances never count so savor the wins along the road.

If you’re scared and excited then you are definitely on the right track.

Be vigilant, but don’t play it safe and do not worry, as it is a complete waste of time.

Don’t waste your valuable energy.

You need it for more important things in your life right now more than ever.

Declare your wins along the way to yourself.

Don’t tell the planet but go into your own private space and blast at the top of your lungs.

“Yes, I did it”.

Along your amazing journey, learn how to embrace what leads you to victory and let go of the stuff that does nothing for you whatsoever.

Doing this crushes the fear, anxiety, and anything else that attempts to derail you.

A former seminar participant expresses this eloquently in the following.

“Shadow the bad and your fears will take care of themselves. Showcase the good.”

Absolutely!

Showcase the good.

Put it on display.

Put it on stage every single day and the what if syndrome will be a long, lost psychological demon.

Marsha Mercant gave it to us right between the eyes.

“The journey is the prize. If you don’t enjoy the ride, if you don’t enjoy the journey, then you’re wasting your precious time and life.”

Enjoy the ride.

Obstacles can’t stop you.

Problems can’t stop you.

Most of all, other people can’t stop you.

The only one that can stop you is yourself. So stop doing this over and over again.

Don’t follow the herd.

Strive to push forward when obstacles, problems, or people attempt to derail you from your purpose and mission.

This is some of the banter that we hear from time to time.

“Oh sure, I attended that seminar but nothing really changed. I was really pumped for a couple of days but it didn’t last.”

“Why would you spend all that money when it’s all common sense?”

“Reading is not for me. I get all the news that I need from CNN.”

CNN represents continuous negative news 86,400 seconds per day, 24/7 and 365 days per year.

These wonderful people don’t know that they don’t know.

So here is the real question.

Do you eat every day?

Do you eat every other day or do you skip eating for days on end?

Definitely not!

Personal growth demands daily sustenance in order to grow intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, physically and financially. As soon as you take one day or a one-week vacation, you start moving backwards into your old rut and as a result your paradigm just loves it.

Immediately, you begin to start driving in reverse. After awhile, living in reverse seems natural only because your paradigm has you by the throat.

It’s easier this way.

However, if you persist, your new way of thinking and doing dramatically enhances your life.

Is this easy?

No, otherwise everyone and their dog would be on this personal growth bus.

John Gordon wrote a book entitled the Energy Bus. This book is all about people getting on the bus that takes them where they want to go.

Seriously, the only way to embark on this life journey of awareness is to live it every single day.

Live it, breathe it, savor it and love it every 86,400 seconds of each glorious day.

No one knows when it’s our time to meet our creator therefore make it count.

Make it count your way, not someone else’s way.

Make it count your way because if you do you will be the captain of your ship and you will be able to steer your vessel anywhere that you choose.

We were gifted with free will therefore utilize this amazing power to benefit not only yourself but also others that you encounter on your journey.

Yes, it’s not a perfect world but that’s the mystery of it all.

Choose to be a developer and not an enabler or codependent.

There will be frustrations; disappointments, failures, but the wins will far outweigh the latter when you no longer live in reverse.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

Dictionary.com, describes fantastically as conceived or appearing as if conceived by an unrestrained imagination, odd and remarkable, bizarre, grotesque, fanciful or capricious, as persons or their ideas or actions, imaginary or groundless and not being based on reality, foolish or rational, extravagantly fanciful, marvelous, incredibly great or extreme, exorbitant, highly unrealistic or impractical, outlandish and extraordinarily good.

Does this sound like, Sir Richard Branson, Elon Musk, John Paul DeJoria, Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos and many more?

Fantastic doesn’t mean being perfect.

Fantastic means being real with real talk and not air talk. Air talk always signifies what people want to hear. Real talk signifies the straight goods with no hidden agendas, sidebars, or any other BS.

Fantastic implies the notion that you have delivered the goods no matter what.

Fantastic indicates that you must have such an outlandish idea that most people cannot get their heads around it.

It is never logical or linear. There are no dots to follow until it is conceived and completed. Most people cannot wrap their head around the idea, as it is non-linear.

We were taught that non-linear is for people that cannot think straight or don’t have the know how to get it done in a logical, sequential format.

You will never understand the outcome until the outcome has been achieved.

As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. When a reporter asked, "How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?" Edison replied, "I didn't fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps."

Edison understood the law.

He absolutely understood the Law of Gestation.

The Law of Gestation states that every process needs to go through a period of time during which it is conceptualized and actualized.

Bob Proctor, one of my mentors stated this in a seminar.

Patience is understanding that there is a natural gestation period for all acts of creation. We understand, for example, that it takes approximately 280 days from conception for a human baby to be born and it takes a given number of days for different seeds to bear fruit. Well, the same is true for our dreams and goals. They must develop on the inside before they can manifest into reality. And that’s why patience is required to achieve your goals.”

No one person is born fantastic.

This trait is prodded, nurtured, and developed until it becomes a seedling capable of sustaining itself.

What does it take to aspire to this level of great achievement in life?

It requires an innate ability to be real with as few chameleon acts as possible.

Being real implies ridding oneself of the infamous ego.

It is rare to see this in society today, as the norm is not fantastic but the total opposite, i.e. plain, common, logical, rational, customary, reasonable, credible, unimaginative and so on and so on.

Strive to be fantastic and not perfect if that is your mission in life.

“Perhaps the relationship between my eyes and brain extends to how I “see” everything. What would happen if I could see another person’s point of view? Or be willing to accept that I’m not seeing the whole picture…ever? Maybe I might look at my fellow humans with new eyes.” – Lavinia Plonka

Several years ago, this elderly gentleman shared this story with me.

This elderly gentleman mentioned that he was leaving a parkade after parking his car and bumped into the security guard that was monitoring the site.

The security guard seemed a bit frustrated as he was continually telling motorists not to park in the fire lane, as it was a hazard for emergency vehicles.

No one was listening as they simply went around the block and then returned back to the building that was always crowded as people were going in and out.

As the elderly gentleman left the parkade, the security guard exited at exactly the same time in order to tell a motorist for the third time that he was violating the parking ordinance.

You could hear the argument as the elderly gentleman was leaving the area to go about his business.

Soon thereafter, the individual that was being chastised by the security guard began to follow the elderly gentleman with his car.

At first, the individual in question rolled down his window and began to utter threats to the elderly gentleman.

The elderly gentleman was shocked, as he had no clue why this person was lashing out at him.

As they both approached the intersection, the irate individual ‘s threats escalated.

He said, “You’re a judgmental (expletive) old man so stay out of my business.”

As I heard this story, it was obvious that the irate individual assumed that the elderly gentleman reported the parking infraction to the security guard.

Truth be told, the elderly gentleman was minding his own business.

So here’s the crux of this short story.

Perception is always in the eye of the beholder. The irate individual perceived that the elderly gentleman finked on him.

His perception was incredibly flawed.

In other circumstances and especially in these unprecedented times when emotions are high, explosive results might have been the result of this flawed perception.

Experiencing life with an inner eye of understanding always supersedes our physical eyes.

It doesn’t take much to arouse the amygdala.

We must all move past the five sensory factors and utilize our sixth sense.

Awareness.

Respond and not react!

As soon as the insatiable ego steps into the mix, everything begins to go south. Common sense, logic and everything else that has the ability to stabilize the communication is out the window. The amygdala now kicks everything into high gear and explosive emotions derail any possible solution.

Awareness provides you with that sixth sense that leads and guides you towards intelligent and proactive decisions.

In essence, it’s all about defusing potentially, explosive, destructive, and meaningless drama by eradicating the ego, reaction, and emotion from the mix to the best of our ability.
